Quarterback: the past couple of fantasy football seasons ive banked on late round QB picks due to dominant running back play. but with the emergence of RBBCs & the nfl throwing more, i wanted to make sure i had an elite QB this year. If I could redraft, i would pick Aaron Rodgers (1) for all 3 teams, hes the safest fantasy pick this year, esp. with Brees on the cover of Madden.

Wide Receivers: Greg Jennings (2) and Roddy White are sure-fire 1,000 receiving guys. i wanted to have atleast 1 of those to go along with my risks & sleepers. Wes Welker (2) is one of my bigger fantasy gambles. in my auction league i went up to $36 for him, and in my 12 team league grabbed him at top of the 4th round (which i was pretty happy with). lets hope he gets comfortable with his newly repaired knees. Bernard Berrian (2) is a guy im hoping takes on the role of WR1, (considering Sidney Rice was a nobody until he became Farve’s #1. Mike Williams (2) has been my sleeper pick at WR since week 1 of training camp, the bucs are absolutely in love with that guy.

Tight Ends: Visanthe Shiancoe (2) is a tight-end im not too thrilled about having in 2 leagues, having to rely on TDs for fantasy points doesnt sit well with me. consistency with yards and receptions esp. in PPR leagues are much better for me. lets hope he breaks out, again. Zach Miller (1) is a decent TE with Jason Witten (1) being my safest TE pick. maybe Jermaine Greshem (1) somehow finds a way to be relevant this year, but im skeptical.

Running Back: my quote for fantasy this year, Jamaal Charles (3) or BUST. seeing this guy play made me feel like i was drafting Chris Johnson (1) but later in the 2nd round. Sure Thomas Jones just had a monster year in ’09, but homeboy is 32! he may steal some goal line carries, but Charles is gonna be the bulk of the workload. i hope it. Adrian Peterson (1) is primed for a better fantasy year with Farve looking fragile, and if Chris Johnson busts and totals half of his fantasy points, he’d still be at 1,000 yards rushing. oh, and lets hope Ryan Matthews (1) is worth the hype, and the 2nd round selection. Clinton Portis (1)should get most of the workload on Washington, and should make a solid RB3/flex. my yearly gamble made it on only one team this year, Ronnie Brown (1), will this be the year you stay healthy? Lastly, the J-E-T-S ran the ball 600+ times last year, LaDanian Tomlinson (1). Jets 600 carries. LT. thats all im saying about that.

with that said, here’s to hoping everyone’s players stay healthy, with mine having priority =P.

Inception. Great movie right? I can honestly say that this is one of the greater of ones I’ve seen thus far. But this concept is one that’s quite interesting, and with the movie fresh in everyone’s mind I think it’s worth looking into. Follow me for a minute.1

One Christian pastor I listen to from time to time spoke once of how the devil works. Cuz we already know that one, The Sacrifice on the Cross has already won our heaven ticket. And two, quite frankly satan ain’t got nothin on the Lord can I get an Amen, nasayin?? So then how then does a seemingly powerless devil have anything on the people that are faithful to Him?

Deception. Yes Satan once used to be quite the powerful angel. Heck once he bounced from heaven he took a third of the angels with him? Im not saying give props to him, but I’m saying you have to respect that he really has the power to do some serious damage. The same way he tricked those angels to leave heaven, he uses on us. And man if angels are susceptible, how much more are we.

So wait. The angels were in heaven when they were tricked too. So I guess. Where God is, the devil can also be present? Well God is omnipresent.

Okay. So by now you’re like. ‘ur saying Angels are susceptible, satan can be there in the presence of God, and that he’s deceiving so when i think it’s good it could possibly be bad?’

Now these are all things you already knew. How many times have we come from an amazing Spirit filled weekend to be brought abruptly back to harsh reality? Or sometimes worse? Or after mass you’re already at it biting someone’s head off, minutes after receiving the Eucharist??? Come on.

Enter Inception. Seeds can be planted inadvertently by many things. When i find it in my self to give up a seat for a father who wants to sit next to his 2 little girls on the plane, so i can sit in between the rudest/hairiest armed man in the world who rubs my arm throughout the entire flight; its God who tells me, do it, not cuz it’s easy but cuz it’s right. Or when my stingy butt struggles to find a way to let go of money because it’s of this world and not of the permanent (a lesson I learn over and over); I attribute to God revealing His transcendent beauty to my otherwise trivial life. Tell me then. That when my good ideas come, I attribute to God. And when my humanness and sinful tendencies come to action, I blame myself; no longer worthy, but ugly. no longer enlightened of grace but of the world. farther from heaven, closer to earth. closer to pitty. farther from Christ.

Wow. Farther from Christ you say. Now who could be happier about that than, yeah, that guy.

Could it be possible that the ‘bad’ ideas we have that we take action on are ways the devil has tricked us into? Cuz if we as humans made free; attribute the positive and heaven-sent, transcending graces of this world to God. Should be able to point to satan when we fall for his deceptions. It is the inception of the bad thought by devil, that makes us think it was ours to begin with. Eve did not look at the tree of Wisdom and life until the serpent snake enticed her!!!

INCEPTION of bad ideas thinking they’re our own are what lead us to believing that we ourselves are evil, unworthy, undeserving, unrepentful, hopelessly sinful. This is how the devil, the master of deception and lies, deceives us.

Tell me it’s not easier to do good when you’re on a doing good streak. And as soon as you sin you’re almost willing to let the entire world fall apart, overwhelming as it comes sinning goes like a domino effect on us. Cuz man we already sinned why not again.2 people knew what they were saying when they said respect yourself first. That maybe dignity of self is underrated.

The point is. Don’t feel ugly. A child of God is not ugly. Don’t feel unworthy, because before you were even conceived, He wrote you in the palm of his hand. Dont lose hope, because the Resurrection happened. Don’t feel unloved. His Love is perfect, it is unconditional. The only thing that can separate us from the Love of God is our own thinking that He would possibly be farther than an arms length. Heaven help us be reminded of our already purchased rewards of eternal life.

my telemetry tech is a retired physician, anesthesiologist, hospital owner & army general. from time to time i ask him questions about culture, medicine and even relationship advice. (i figure such an accomplished man’s wisdom might be worth hearing, and learning).

last night he told me about the early goings of his marriage. the day of their wedding his wife told him simply, ‘i cannot cook, all throughout childhood i always had someone to cook for me so i did not have to learn’. and in response he told her ‘it’s fine i know very well how to cook, but there must be something that you’re good at’. ‘i used to sing in public places throughout med school’ she said. and so he told her ‘that’s great, i’ll cook, while you sing’.

and so he cooked, and so she sang. a year into their marriage, that’s what they did. until one day he made plans to play golf. so his wife told him ‘since you’re playing golf today, i’ll cook for you’. so she cooked for him, and he happily ate what she had made. another day passes, and again she offers to cook for him. again she cooked, again he ate.

one day she decides that she would play golf with him. and so she cooked for the both of them. as she ate the meal that she has been preparing for him, her first reaction was to spit out the food and ask, ‘yuck, how can you eat that? it is so bitter! why have u never said anything!’. he responds to her; ‘because i appreciate that you are trying to cook for me. and because of that, to me it is sweet.’

he told me that from that day on, she developed such great respect for him and how he honors her as his wife, that from that day on; every time he went to go play golf, she went to go, to a cooking class.

awesome.

blame it on the fact that my girlfriend is 3,000 miles away. with that said here’s my attempt at a movie review/spoiler/reflection/lol.

prelude ~ tonight was first friday adoration with my household. followed up with 4Rivers BBQ and this movie. its one of the better ways to spend an evening. being around the SFC community is quite different than that of YFC. conversations i think is being the biggest difference. with that mindsets. being around so many awesome women of God in the community only leaves me with a great desire for one thing; that they know what they’re worth.

Knight & Day. you’ve seen this type of movie before; a secret agent whose mistakenly gone rogue while the secret organization that he works for turns their back on him. one thing leads to another and 50 people get shot, every mode of transportation blows up, and the hero saves the day and gets the girl. typical action movie right? now look at it through the perspective of adventure.

just as the relationship of roy and june’s was in this movie was a work in progress. so is that of any relationship. and while as much as this seems like another action movie for guys who get to see another james bondesque film, i think it was filmed in the perspective of a woman in what she hopes for in a man.

throughout the entire movie, june is doing things that just continually put her in harm’s way. and with each questionable action, roy is there to get her out whatever rut shes in. regardless of the life-saving advice he provides her; she continually runs away from him. but he continually runs after her. and with each life-saving event, june inches her way to trust roy. each time having her best interest in mind. each time providing for her, even in ways she doesn’t understand. all the while he does this, never losing sight of his duty (as a secret agent LOL).

a Knight. in every sense of the word, is exactly what every woman is destined for. chivalry can only be dead if a woman no longer decides that she is worth the effort and in turn settles for less. trust sisters, that the man who is deserving of you understands your worth and will fight to protect it, to provide for it, and to win it over.

with that. i think that this movie is one of the more entertaining ones out there. definitely packed with a lot of action. so much in fact that its comedic. 2 thumbs up. lol
